We also advocate for the rights of our members to good quality trans health care.
Using the Asia Pacific Trans Health Blueprint as a health reference document for trans community advocates, health professionals, policy makers and those who design or deliver services to trans people, we are working with the Ministry of Health, Tonga to ensure every transgender person has access without discrimination to good quality healthcare.

This Case study was conduct in 2016, led by the NSW University, ASHM, UNDP and the Tonga Leitis Association for Key Populations (Men who have sex with men (MSM), Transgender people (TG) and Sex Workers (SW) in TongaThe Pacific Mapping and Behavioural Study: HIV and STI Risk Vulnerability among Key Populations – Tonga was conducted in 2016 and examined the behaviour risk factors and social and structural determinants of risk that drive the epidemic among vulnerable groups, such as men who have sex with men, transgender people, sex workers and seafarers. The study was part of a larger research effort that covered nine Pacific countries. This study was undertaken by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the University of New South Wales (UNSW). TLA identified that majority of its members, are having this diseases. Most of the elderly people is having a hard time with the accessing the health care and treatment. TLA start providing training on NCD with Healthy Eating and Physical Activities. Tonga Health is working together with TLA to conduct an Awareness Program to prevent the NCD in Tonga
